Assistant Maintenance/Farm Labor – SMYRNA, NC 28579

Hiring end of 2026/Beginning of 2027: We are looking for a mechanically minded, physically strong candidate to help with maintenance and repairs on the farm. The ideal candidate will be a person that has an interest in RAS farming and can be trained to learn the mechanics of the farm, with the goal of assisting repairs and maintenance. Must be OK with getting dirty and wet once in a while. Work involves occasional heavy lifting and occasional handling of large, strong fish. No previous aquaculture experience is necessary, but plumbing/pump repair experience is a huge plus.
Expected Hours of Work / Pay:
This job will start as part-time hourly (flexible, to be discussed), with opportunity to expand, and pay based upon experience and/or performance. The facility operates 24/7, and the ideal candidate will be local and available to help during occasional weather events that can cause mechanical issues.
★ Candidate must be willing to be “on-call” 1 weekend per month. If called, overtime will be paid.
Essential Skills for Ideal Candidate:
Willingness to learn with a good attitude
Strength to lift 50lb feed bags
Basic knowledge of plumbing & electrical
Ability to use common hand tools safely and effectively
Willingness to get wet and do occasional “dirty work”

Farm LABOR/MAINTENANCE/Caviar Packer – LENOIR NC 28645

We are seeking a dedicated Farm Hand/Laborer to join our aquacultural team. This role involves hands-on work in various fish farming operations, animal care, equipment maintenance, packing caviar, and general farm duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a passion for aquaculture and animal husbandry. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in aquaculture and machinery operation within a dynamic farm environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist with daily farm operations including harvesting and packing caviar
* Care for fish, ensuring proper feeding and health monitoring
* Perform equipment repairs and maintenance, including use of hand tools and power tools
* Handling large fish and getting into fish tanks as needed
* Assist with other farm workers as needed
* Maintain cleanliness and safety of the farm environment
* Perform heavy lifting and physical labor throughout the workday
SKILLS
* Mechanical knowledge related to water pumps
* Ability to operate forklifts and power tools safely
* Knowledge of equipment maintenance and basic math for measurements and calculations
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
